Re: Macon, Georgia: What CSA Group was there?

Thanks a lot!! If you come on something else feel free to share it.
I know the man served because according to my great aunt who has been dead at least 20 years shared the story of how her Aunt Mary saved his horse from the Yankees.
The soldier already had hold of the horse, and Aunt Mary who was just a child told him her daddy said whatever you do, do not let them take my horse while I am away. So she told the man he could not take the horse. The Yankee soldier asked her what if he shot the horse, and she said go ahead then. Her daddy had told her not to let them take his horse.
The Yankee soldier in what I prefer to think of as an act of kindness, let go and rode away. I always felt he must have had a little sister or daughter at home himself.
