The Charleston newspapers are the Charleston Daily Courier, Dec. 9 and 12, 1864, 2nd column, first page. A small note on Honey Hill (Nov. 30, 1864) appears at the bottom of column 2 on Dec. 10th. The Charleston Mercury, for Dec. 9, 1864, 2nd column, first page, also makes notice of Coosawhatchie.
Georgia Reserves are mentioned in most of these news pieces. Of course their presence was unusual since they were serving out of state under special permission.
