Re: Flag of the 34th GA

Hello,

I too would like a scan of the color picture of this beautiful flag! You can send it to me email address if you can.

The flag is now its cream color because of poor dyes and exposure over time. Red dyes and some blues do fade off the silk of the era - witness how most of the originally pink/rose ANV silk flags are now also cream color today!

The canton was indeed originally blue and the upper and lower bar were some shade of red, perhaps a lighter shade as that was all the flag maker could get from the dry goods store where the material was purchased. I have seen existing First National flags with everything from purple to pink/rose colored bars. The middle bar was, of course, white already!

Hope this helps.
