The death of William M. Haygood was in the newspaper of May 16, 1866. It is simply a legal notice stating that he died intestate and that the Clerk of the Superior Court would represent his estate. Coincidentally, another relatives' legal notice was listed in the same paper and he died in September of 1865. That may mean nothing.
His widow never filed for a pension. She died in 1886. I do have another newspaper extract that stated William served in the Wayne Guards from Washington County, Georgia. Thanks for your help. I have hit a major brick wall.
