I read your post of Feb 19 with excitement. My g-great grandfather was also in Co H, Dahlonega Volunteers. Ben Campbell. He later reenlisted with the 52 GA. I have a letter he wrote several years after the war telling a good bit of info about his time in the 1st GA. Would love to share!!!!!!

I see you are writing a novel loosely based on your ancestor's adventures. I did the same; was published in 2002. Most of the personal events, however, relate to his service in the 52nd.

Much in common here. Would love to hear from you as to how things are progressing as well as share info.
