I'm researching a book on Sherman's March to the Sea and I am having difficulty in building a detailed order of battle for Confederate forces. I am especially interested in the cavalry serving under Joseph Wheeler, the Georgia Militia under Gustavus Smith and the garrison of Savannah under Hardee.

I have been able to find no orders of battle in the Official Records and reports from commanders only give tantalising clues to which brigades were present.

Any advice of where to find detailed information would be greatly appreciated!
