Beatrice, this Colquitt is not the same man as your Gen. Alfred H. Colquitt.

As Mr White stated in his post Jack Colquitt was a deserter from the 11th Texas Cavalry working with a gang of deserters called "Colquitt's Scouts" in Georgia. It was this Jack Colquitt that was killed not Alfred H. Colquitt.
