Re: marietta hospitals
In Response To: marietta hospitals ()

Hi, guys: I am a rank amateur at this, but was born and raised in Marietta. There are some old houses on Whitlock Avenue that were supposed to have been used as hospitals.

This was just before the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, and Marietta was on Sherman's supply line. Could your ancestor have been "forwarded" to a Union hospital?

Dan Cox operates, or did, the Marietta Museum in the old Kennesaw House Hotel, where some of Andrew's raiders stayed before they stole the General. I have lost the e-mail address I had for him, but he has a book about Marietta that the Cobb County Libray may have info on. Good Luck.
