My GG Grandfather who was with the 6th Georgia Cavalry was wounded on Nov. 24, 1863 at Kingston, TN. He was sent to the Kent Hospital to recover. Does anyone know where the Kent Hospital was located? Also, he is listed on the Rolls of Rebel Deserters released on Oath of Amnesty at Chattanooga, TN. in 1864. Is it possible that he surrendered and then signed the oath, or was he in fact a deserter? It doesn't matter, but I would assume that I would be prohibited from joining the SCV.
