Dear Mr. Fox

I was gratified by your response. I bought your book and found it very informative and well written. My GG Grandfather was John Washington Smith, born in Henry County, Ga. He was definitely the Smith listed by you in Co. E 35th. I am reasonably sure his parents were Josey & Matilda Smith listed in 1860 census in Campbelton who were married in 1835 in Henry Co. Ga. I don't know much about what happened to him after Civil War except that he at one time probably lived in Arkansas, Louisiana & Texas. I have been to his grave site many times in Holdenville, Okla where we still own some sites he bought about 1910. He died in 1914 in Butner, Okla and was buried in Holdenville Cemetery in Hughes Co. Okla. I know nothing of his wife and children except for Eliud Smith, my great grandfather.
