My ggggrandfather was also in Co. E 25th Ga. and I am very confused by the information I have been able to obtain.

My ancestor fought at Chickamauga, the Atlanta campaign and went with Hood into Tenn. where he was captured at the battle of Franklin.

He applied for a Confederate pension in the early 1900's and listed his unit as Company E 25th Ga.

We have no evidence that he ever considered himself a member of any other unit.

Your gguncle entered service 12 days before my ancestor on 4-12-1862. He was elected Jr. 2nd Lieutenant on 8-8-1862.
My ancestors name was Charles Israel Hutto and he lived near Friendship Baptist Church in Henry Co. Ala.
