Dear Debra:
i am a mitchum,i am the great grand son of daniel t. mitchum who also fought in the civil war for the confederacy,he was in the 7 alabama cavalry regiment i do not know if i am a decendant of james mitchum although i suspect that i am, i do not know a lot about my great grand father other than he lived in clay county alabama where both my grand father and father were born,my grand father and father moved out of alabama some time in the 1920's i think,daniel is buried there in the mount carmel cemetary.i have a copy of a marriage license dated 1895 for a tempa mitchum and a j.r.bolan,tempa was my great grand fathers daughter.I dont have a whole lot of information,but i will be glad to share any that i have or that may be useful to you.
