Re: James A. Laborius
In Response To: Re: James A. Laborius ()

Hello Alan,
I don't recall if I thanked you for the information on Joseph Laborus. I noticed the error I made in calling him James A. Laborius. I meant to put Joseph A. Laborus. James H. Laborus was his son. And as you may have noticed, the spelling of the last name went thru many versions - the final one was Laborus, as James chose. The story of the Laborus family is very puzzling. I had hoped, and still do, that on one of Joseph's records his wife's name will appear. She is just Mrs. Laborus at this point in time. Her maiden name is only a guess. There are no birth records to be had in St. Joseph, FL (Gulf Co.) having been destroyed by storms in 1840/41. Then yellow fever chased any survivors away from St. Joe.

I may decide to send for Joseph's service records but to be honest, they are a little expensive for me. Besides, I think you have been more than helpful on that account.

Thank you again for your help.

Sincerely,
Jean O'Shea
