I realize that the Guardian and Grave Site Registry programs are not perfect and that there are certainly some delays and issues that prevent the average person to access the information currently. However, only SCV members in good standing can appropriately ensure correct marking of these graves; those that are not under care need to be reported to an SCV camp for Guardianship.
What I am saying is that people that are not SCV members need to know how -- and how important it is, in my opinion -- to report grave sites to the SCV, which is what my message was trying to do.
My apologies if I was unclear; I commend your efforts to document the final resting place of these men, but the Registry and Guardian programs will never be able to be quite as successful without out input from others. That actually speaks well of your efforts, rather than less of them.
On a personal note, I want to also say that I am especially grateful for your efforts in Georgia, because about half of my Confederate Ancestors were from Georgia. Some of them are buried in forgotten grave sites that I have been doing my best to restore, but it is too long of a commute from Charleston for me to do as much as my heart desires.
Respectfully,
Paul Warren Brown
