My sweetie and I have been to several of the eastern VA battlefields, museums points of interest in the Petersburg and Richmond area. We are currently planning a vacation in early Sept. up to the Shenandoah valley and work our way up through the area around Harpers Ferry, Antietam, Gettysburg. This, will be a his/hers sort of trip with time spent in routine tourist activities as well as historical interests.

I have particular interest in sites, battles, etc where the 24th GA Infantry was involved. My Great Grandfather was in company C of that regiment. Any suggestions, specifics, experience with these sites and the area I mentioned appreciated.
