Marvin, my wife and I visited Gettysburg a few years back and let me make one suggestion. Hire and individual tour guide for your first trip through the park then drive it yourself. The tour bus is OK, but, for a small fee and a tip, you get a very personal tour of the park. The person we hired was very knowlegeable of the park and the battle and was in the process of writing his own book about the battle. The 24th Georgia has a monument near the area where they became engaged in the fight and a short narative of the 24th's engagement. My great-great grandfather and his brother were with the 24th GA at Gettysburg. They remained with the 24th until captured and released in April of 1865.
