Re: Savannah Hospital - union soldiers

Willard: The "U.S. Quartermaster's Department ROLL OF HONOR", VOL. 22, Page 474. Listed as burial #2706. The heading is titled:
"Names of Union Soldiers who died or were killed at Nashville, Tennessee and different points in the vicinity, who have either been interred as Unknown in the Nashville, Tennessee National Cemetery, or removed to their homes by their friends." (This is on page 397),

Since you referred to his death in Savannah, I am at a loss to explain how he is listed as "dying on November 14, 1864 in Nashville". There is not grave section or grave number given for him and hundreds more UNDER THIS HEADING so there still might be a lead. Perhaps his remains were shipped home after the war and/or perhaps this is as far as they made it towards home. Any ideas on this??
