I am a GA native. My husband and his family are coming from Detroit to Atlanta for a visit, he's active duty overseas. He and his father enjoy visiting Civil War sites but I'm not sure where to take them. I am from southern GA and have travelled , as a teenager, to historical sites up here but don't fully remember where we went. I was thinking of the Etowah Indian mounds not sure if there is a museum there. I 'd like to stay north Atlanta up to Chattanooga area. If anyone can suggest some nice places to go I would really appreciate it.
