You might check the Florida Confederate Pension Applications database online; the Alabama Civil War Database on the Alabama Department of Archives and History (ADAH) website; Confederate Military History Extended Addition vol. VII (Georgia); Confederate Veteran magazine; a USGENWEB article on: The Moore Brothers of Northeast Georgia; and Life in Dixie During the War by Mary A. H. Gay (Atlanta: Charles P. Byrd, 1897) which contains a muster-roll of Company K. I would gladly share information on soldiers and maps of the 38th at Gettysburg. I show the 38th on the left of the brigade on the first day of Gettysburg, resting on the Harrisburg road, where they would have passed the Josiah Benner residence and the County Almshouse buildings during their advance toward the town.
