I have looked at the website and it is a wonderful effort. A few comments to note regarding the 38th at Gettysburg. The best account I have found is by Sergeant F. L. Hudgins, whose article is published in Confederate Veteran magazine, vol. 26 (1918), pp. 161-162. Hudgins mentions several men from the regiment, including I. N. [Isaac Newton] Nash of Company D, who was wounded in the arm on 1 July (by a shell fragment) and afterwards had his hand amputated at Winchester. But there may be some confusion with another soldier named [Corporal] John Miles Nash, who is listed as having been killed and buried on Josiah Benner's farm (a field hospital); after the war this Nash was reinterred to Laurel Grove cemetery in Savannah. Incidentally, Hudgins claimed to have a piece of shell that had been fired by Wilkeson's Federal battery on what is now known as Barlow knoll. Hudgins also describes the wounding of 1st Sergeant "Phil" Alexander during hand-to-hand combat. Benjamin H. Boyd from Company C, who died from his wounds at the hospital in Frederick, Maryland is reportedly buried in Mount Olivet cemetery there, in grave 208. The ADAH database shows Levi H. Pettit of Company B as applying for a pension on 18 April 1885 in Blount county; his address was listed as Brooksville, Alabama. A list of officers imprisoned at Johnson's Island, Ohio shows Lt. W. Mathews of Company G (residence Landrensville, Ga) and Lt. John Baxter of Company D (residence Cross Keys, Ga). Company K was reportedly commanded by Captain George W. Stubbs, while Company C was said to have been commanded by 2nd Lieutenant Jacob Perry Pughsley, since Captain William L. McLeod was leading the regiment (McLeod was killed). By the way, is it Capt. McLeod or Lt. Colonel McLeod?
