DeWitt Clinton Bacon

Private DeWitt Clinton Bacon (b. Liberty cty, GA 1845, son of lawyer E.H. Bacon; living Savannah in 1860 census) was detailed to the Georgia District Signal Corps out of Savannah. He does not appear in the NPS-SS listing on the 'Net (nor does his father[?], Capt E.H. Bacon of the "Southern Rangers" cavalry company, Savannah, although the Georgia Archives site displays the latter's muster rolls). An excellent image of the young man, in uniform, is posted at Ancestry dot com.

I would like to learn the parent unit from which "Clint" Bacon was detailed -- I presume a Savannah-area unit.
