I have heard of the same thing during parts of Sherman's march, particularly in Madison and Millegeville. It's really a pleasure to hear from people whose relatives were in areas we were interested in moving near. I almost bought a house in Gann's Crossing subdivision, but someone beat us to it. We ended up in a more convenient location in Smyrna, but I really liked that area. My Boring folks moved to Cobb County when the Cherokee were moved west. They came from Jackson, DeKalb, and the Savannah area, having started in the late 1600s in Maryland, where they came from Ireland. The McCollum branch came from Scotland to New Jersey in 1732, and promptly started south, where they belonged. LOL Stan
