My 2G Uncle, George David Darsey, served with the 16th GA. He left a notebook with some diary entries in it from the War. In it he noted that May 6, 1863, "...after the fighting was well over for the day. I was wounded while on skirmishing duty. I was carried to the Hospital (Field) by Bragg. Dr Clifton examined my wound and extracted the ball."
