Re: Surgeons of 16th Georgia Wofford's Brigade
Dr. James B. Clifton was surgeon of the 16th Georgia Regiment in BGEN William T. Wofford's Brigade. Incidentally, Clifton kept a diary which is located at the North Carolina Department of Archives and History in Raleigh, NC. Two months later, at Gettysburg, Clifton tended to wounded at the Rose farm barn very close to where so many of Semmes' Georgians and Kershaw's South Carolinians fell on the second day. The assistant surgeon of the 16th Georgia was Robert P. Myers. Myers also kept a diary which can be accessed at the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, VA.
