Re: 3rd Georgia,22nd Georgia Infantry

Charles,

Tom Elmore is correct. Your ancestor, along with Chaplain Cook of the 2nd GA Battalion, was detailed to stay behind at Gettysburg to tend to the many wounded of Wright's Brigade.

I'm busy at work on my next book, "Georgia At Gettysburg", which will profile the role of Georgia's 43 commands that were present at Gettysburg, July 1863.

Shoot me an email @: gcw31ga@mindspring.com

I've got access to a letter Chaplain Stokes' composed concerning Gettysburg & his subsequent incarceration at Ft. McHenry.

Sincerely,

Greg
