There is only one card in the file of Corporal James Lane, Company D, 18 Georgia which records he was admitted to "A of P. City Point, Virginia, April 4,1865 with a Gun Shot Wound, right hip." Believe he had been captured by elements of the Federal 9th Army Corps.
