Would anyone have information on John R. Carpenter, Pvt., Co. D, 10th Battalion Ga. Cavalry (State Guards). I do know that John R., about 15yrs. of age, and his father, John D. Carpenter, about 58 yrs. of age, enlisted in this unit in the latter part of 1863/ early 1864. they lived in Cass County in 1860
John D. Carpenter survived the war but I cannot find anything on John R. Carpenter as to what happened to him. He is not listed with his family in the 1870 or 1880 census that I have been able to find.
