Mr. Ezzard,

I have gone to the National Archives and examined the original documents of the rosters with the names of those that were given paroles in the geographic boundaries of Georgia and no list exists for Kingston.

The best course of action to develop a list of those that obtained a parole would be to go through the Georgia Confederate Veteran and Widow's Indigent Pension requests and note those that claimed they surrendered at Kingston, Georgia. However, this list would not be complete because of veterans who had died prior to that point, veterans who filed in or were from another state and those that did not file for a pension.

I have been told that paroles given during this time period were revoked for reasons unknown. If this is true then it was probable that any register of parolees was destroyed or neglected overtime and lost to future generations. I am currently looking for this order and will let you know when I find it.

It would be impossible to recreate the entire list. If one could take on this laborious task, maybe a pattern could be discerned. It is not an impossible task but it would take funding and a lot of time.

I will keep you posted.

Respectfully,
