The part in your post about the army removing this man's body cannot be true unless James Ware wore Federal blue. After the war a government commission explored every part of the South in search of burial places for U S soldiers. These were identified whenever possible and moved to National cemeteries. Thiis was documented in a PBS special seen a few days ago.

Not one dime of Federal money was spent to locate and identify Confederate dead. The ladies of the South took it upon themselves to undertake this difficult task. Confederate dead from the Chickamauga battlefield were removed to Marietta Confederate Cemetery. Read about it on page six of this brochure.
