43rd Georgia Infantry, Company K

John F. Rives, Captain
James F. Law, 1st Lieutenant

......

J. S. Davis, 2nd Lieutenant, Company K, 43rd Georgia Infantry, captured May 8, 1865 by U. S. Forces under Brvt. Brig. Gen'l W. J. Palmer and paroled on or about May 8, at Athens, Ga., no other records

M266: Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Georgia

Note: There are only two Company K muster rolls which survived to be incorporated into the Compiled Service Records, those being for the periods:

March 10 to Oct. 31, 1862, station not stated
&
Nov & Dec, 1863, where they were stationed near Dalton, Ga.

This would seem to indicate that J. S. Davis enlisted during the year 1864
