thanks for that information. I think that song refers to his father Daniel, who according to my research, was a lazy man. I know Daniel, the son, signed up with the 26th GA and was discharged a few months later due to fidability. I'm trying to figure out if he enlisted again with the 12th GA or if that was a different Daniel Spikes. I will definitely look up the song. Thanks again for your help.
