You are correct. The series of war reminiscences that appeared in the Augusta Chronicle apparently fizzled early, and did not quite stack up to the ones submitted to the Atlanta Journal in the early 1900s.

Surely other newspapers had similar columns. A publication from the era entitled the "Sunny South" had a column, off and on.
