The source for some of the information on the 58th North Carolina came from the website by Jeffrey Weaver (link below). You probably know Mr. Weaver.

Conscripts came from various locations within a state then normally they were sent to a place of rendezvous such as Athens, Georgia. I am sure you have seen in Compiled Military Service Records (CMSR) the various locations and dates after a regiment has been formed that men "enlisted." Many of them but not all were conscripts and the inconsistent classification of the men when the rolls were made out makes it hard to discern who was a conscript or who was a late volunteer.
