Hi, Jim;
First I gave you the wrong Company for Franklin..it was not "G" but "H" 15th Georgia Infantry. Sorry. I have a pic of his grave which I just got from a kinsman. I just up-loaded it to my P.C. Although not REALLY sure as yet, I am sending you my pic.Robert Sr. was my GGGGG Grandfather and was listed by the DAR as a "Patriot" and a son of his, Robert Walters Jr was a Leuitenant in the Pittsylvania County Miltiia and fought at the Battle of Guildford Court House, N.C. on 15th Mar 1781 along with some brothers in the same Unit. Peter was there too. Still checkin on John, as there was a Capt John Walters in the War of 1812, with Tillman Walters, at that time in Alabama. Feel free to use it for your files. Don`t have info on Franklins wife`s name. Or children, but that info could turn up later.
Incidentally, Robert Walters Sr. was a veteran of the French & Indian Wars, serving with 7th Company Virginia Militia from Jan 7, 1754-Oct 8, 1756. He was in Capt Joshua Lewis`s Company.His son, Moses was my direct line. Thought you would find this interesting. I have other ancestors from the Civil War, I will post the Info when I get that together. Working on my family history is a subject I never tire of. Later, Merkel Walters aka mertiger2@comcast.net
