The records on the 24th Ga. are incorrect.The regiment was in the Shenendoah Valley on Aug.16th,1864.Those shown captured at Deep Bottom Va. were actually captured and killed at Cedarville(Front Royal)Va.They were caught in the middle of the North Fork of the Shenendoah River by Custer's men.Kershaw's division had been sent to the valley to reinforce Early.That's where General Wofford says they were on that date.
