Are you by any chance related to Sylvester J Farmer? He raised Co. D, 15th Ga. Infantry, in Crawfordville, and served as its Captain until summer '62, when he was appointed Surgeon of the 15th, his pre war profession. I know little else about him, but have located him postwar, living in the Atlanta area.
