Thanks George, I will keep trying. After the war they moved to Indiana, one of them becoming a local icon/author, thats about all
I have on them right now. Their graves are unmarked, vandalism most likely.

Here is what else I have from a friend who I am trying to help get VA markers wrote:
I haven't found official listings for the Thompsons, but they are local heroes, so their information
comes from bios posted here in Montgomery County IN. Maurice Thompson was a very
famous Indiana author, who was most famous for a book entitled Alice
of Old Vincennes. The Thompsons were from Georgia and moved to Indian after
the war when they lost everything because of Sherman's march through
Georgia.
