There is a Jesse Lord with the 4th Regiment,Georgia Cavalry (State Guards) & a Jesse M. Lord with the 4th Regiment, Georgia Infantry. I got this info from this web page:http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/soldiers.cfm. I also have a book saying that Jesse M. (Minton)
Lord was in Company D.,57th Georgia Infantry, Smith's Guards,AOT and that he disappeared after the battle of Vicksburg and presumed dead. I believe that information is incorrect. Jesse M. Lord is who i want to find out about. I'm wanting to place a head stone in Lord's Cemetery, Wilkinson County,Ga. in his memory, if he did indeed die in battle. The book I have is"William Lord,Maryland Patriot". Jesse was a decendant of William Lord.
