CW re-burial

My husband and I recently went to visit the site of one of his CW ancestors, buried at the Mallory Cemetery in Madison, GA. However...the stone was gone, and the grave sunken. We suspected it was moved. Apparently it has been. We are still trying to find out who did it...and where it was relocated. If CW graves are relocated is there a place where they take them. The cemetery was a private family one...and very, very neglected and overgrown. There is speculation by the owner of the land around the cemetery that it was taken to a place in S. Georgia. Does anyone have some suggestions for us. His name was William H. H. Butts and he was a member of Cobb's Legion.
