I am looking for information on this unit as well. I have relatives that were in Co. B. Alexander H. Smith and Nathaniel Smith. I have read about many resignations and court martials that took place between in February and March of 1863. Major F.B. Hunt resigned and the court martial of Co. B's captain, M.Y. Sexton, also Co. F's Captain, Z.N. Jackson was court martialed as well. Is there a way to find out why this happened? Any court martial records? It sounds like there could be an interesting story behind these. Where can I find company rosters or more history on the 8th?
