In the course of researching the Arkansas State Troops, I found several rosters which were not included in the NARA Compiled Service Records collection. Among these was a roster of the "Sebastian County Cavalry", Co. B, 3rd Regiment, Cavalry. This roster included a Pvt. T. C. Walker, age 22. Further research has confirmed that this soldier was Tandy C. Walker. The "Sebastian County Cavalry" was organized from men recruited at Fort Smith, in rural Sebastian County, and across the border in the Cherokee Nation.
