cabin creek

Didn't see anyone at cabin creek sat. Listened to a very good (interesting) talk given by the great grand son of Colonel Williams of the 1st. Ks. colored Infantry company. He said he had his pistols but didn't bring them with him. I didn't get to hear his complete talk because it was after the battle and I was cleaning my musket. Or rather someone else was cleaning my musket while I listened to OU get beat. All in all sat was a good even, numbers were sort of lower than I expected about 75 Confederate infantry, about 40 feds.

I decided to wear my very old worn out civilian pants complete with much tears and holes some patched, and a brown sack coat. Saw several really good impression.

after the talks I went to the battlefield and it was a perfect time to do so, the trees had lost some leaves and the creek was visiable from the monument area. A new monument has been now added for the 1st. Ks. Colored Infantry, I was told by Mr. S. that it was only dedicated a couple weeks ago.
