Thanks for the new information. Had I found that record, I would have likely overlooked the grave removal part. "Original Place of Burial" does not just jump out at me on that particular document.
I was hasty in placing Nelson in the 3rd IHG. I basically reasoned that he went there when his outfit defected, and he was buried as Union. Fort Gibson National Cemetery records have him listed in Company I, 3 Indian Infantry. Confusion reins in my mind. I thought the 3rd IHG was mounted (cavalry). Would like to find Nelson on a roster following the defection of Drew's Regiment.
