The Indian Territory in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Granville McPherson, S. B. Maxey and

Sue; The enclosed link to the Indian Pioneer Studies, interviews conducted in the 1930's by WPA workers of people who had been in the IT or OT before 1907, talks at length about the founders of the Grand Lodge for IT at Caddo, including Granville McPherson. He also served as Grand Master 1875-76. In case the link fails, the information is contained in a 1937 interview of a gentleman named Charlie Shields, Volume 82, Interview # 7902. The I-P Studies are available in digital format through the University of Oklahoma, Western History Collection. http://digital.libraries.ou.edu/whc/pioneer/paper.asp?pID=5573&vID=82 Hard copies are available at the Oklahoma History Center, in the Oklahoma HIstorical Society Library, just northeast of the Capitol. Best Wishes. Greg James
