Samuel was in Benton County, AR in the 1860 Census, which is right next to IT, so he probably did enlist there. What I was confused about is whether or not he remained in Watie's regiment, or transferred to Bryan's. His service record appears to imply he was in one of the companies that transferred to Bryan's battalion, but his date and place of re-enlistment don't match up at all. D.C. Patton enlisted most of the men in his company himself in Jul of 1862, but Samuel Patton was re-enlisted by Watie in January of '63, though his service record says he was in Company E, which was D.C. Patton's company. The information just doesn't seem to align well and I want to be as certain as possible about which regiments Samuel was a part of so I can have a better idea as to what battles he took part in.
