Kent,
I'm glad you mentioned that. I hadn't really thought about how differently the Seminole and Muscogee (Creek) were treated land-wise. I'm mostly familiar with the Cherokee since that's my ancestry. I need to read up on the 1866 treaties. As you know, the Seminole were moved east to their present boundaries which, of course, moved the western boundary of the Muscogee east to it's present location. The Cherokee, Muscogee and Seminole could argue that they had troops fighting for the US but there were very few Chickasaw and Choctaw who were US troops. I wonder if it has to do with how many tribal members were displaced during the war. The Unionist Cherokee were at least in their country. The Seminole and Creek were mostly displaced, especially after Phillips' Feb. 1864 raid, being refugees either around Ft Gibson or along the Red River. The Chickasaw and Choctaw were in their own country. Their were probably very, very few Seminole west of present Seminole County when the war ended.
