Re: csa troops in indian territory

I met Patti in Tulsa when I bought her book...great info. my g-g-grandfather, R.W. Thompson, enlisted under C.L. Roff in October of '62, Texas State Troops. He later reenlisted and was mustered into Confederate service, April, 1863, for "three years or the war." His brother, Benjamin Franklin Thompson, enlisted in February, 1864 under Major William Quayle, but i can't find any more information on him. He is listed on the 1860 Cooke County, Tx census, but not on the 1870 census. Don't know if he died, was killed, deserted, or what. No trace of him. His wife and kids moved north after the War and lived in Kansas. R.W. and family stayed in Coesfield, Tx, just northeast of Gainesville (near Bourland's homeplace) and he became a country commissioner. We still keep up the family cemetery on the old homeplace.
