I have News Print that state Col.Guthrie and 500 men from the 1st and 2nd Ky. were at Ravenswood,WV. in early 1861. When they advanced toward Ripley,WV.(Va.) they were attacted by Conf.Partisian Rangers and could not move for almost a week. Col.Guthrie had the fever and him and his command could not move in either direction.
