If he wasn't actually in the Army on either side, I doubt you're going to find a record of it. You might try searching Google Books for starters - if anyone happened to put it in a report, it would probably show up there.

I don't know personally of any books about Perryville, but I would presume there are some. It was an important battle, if not a large battle compared to some others.
