Kentucky (CSA) Burial, Augusta, Ga

In Magnolia Cemetery, Augusta, Ga is a Confederate seciton with 236 interments, all but five of them identified. The graves are marked by small marble headstones which give only the name and (usually) the state from which they served. In a few instances (none of them for Kentuckians) the original stones have been replaced by VA-issued markers, giving the unit and sometimes the date of death. All of the interments appear to have been made during the war or perhaps immediatley thereafter.

One grave is identified as being a Kentuckian:

Wm. K. Langdon, Row 7, Grave 23

The cemetery is in perpetual care and the Confederate section is meticulously maintained.
